The tip of the Hoc

Part of the Atlantic wall, this major structure overlooks the sea by 30 meters. The Pointe du Hoc site was taken by storm on June 6 and 7, 1944 by Colonel Rudder's Rangers.

Today, the remains of the German artillery battery are still present and testify to the violence of the fighting that took place there. Pointe du Hoc is a place of memory for many Americans and has become one of the symbols of the sacrifice of the Gi's.
